Don Pritzlaff, Bronze Medalist at the 2006 FILA World Championships and current Wisconsin Badger Associate Head Coach, will be coaching a practice as a guest at the Crystal Lake, IL, location of the Overtime School of Wrestling on September 14th . Donny trained at Overtime during his successful 2006 campaign and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
"It's a great environment," said Pritzlaff, describing Overtime. "I feel really comfortable there. It's a bunch of good guys who coach there, and they've been all over the world. I just love being around those guys."
Donny is eager to work with the staff and kids again at Overtime because he sees it as great exposure for the program he coaches and a way to give back to the sport at the same time.
"It's great for Wisconsin [Badger wrestling] to have exposure with all of those great kids around there," explained Pritzlaff, "I enjoy working with kids at the high school level. When I was a kid, our club coach always brought in guys to help us get to the next level, so it's good to give back to kids with the great experiences that I've had."
Donny will be at the Overtime School of Wrestling in Naperville, IL, to observe the elite Tour de Force camp from October 2nd through October 4th . He may run other practices during the pre-season training sessions for Overtime, although no other exact dates have been set as of yet.
Pritzlaff has served as an assistant wrestling coach on the Wisconsin Badgers coaching staff for two past two seasons, the same program where he was a four-time All-American and won back-to-back NCAA National Championships in '99-'00 and '00-'01. The past two seasons have been two of the Badger wrestling program's best seasons in recent memory, and Donny was recently elevated to the role of Associate Head Coach for the upcoming '09-'10 season. Pritzlaff previously served as Assistant Coach at Hofstra University under nationally-renowned head coach Tom Ryan, who last season coached the Ohio State Buckeyes to a runner-up finish at the 2009 NCAA Division 1 National Championships.
